Here are a couple of rather fuzzy audience shots of RT at the annual Memorial Day Gaither Homecoming Family Fest in Gatlinburg. Remember when Russ used to sing “Really Big News” to a little bitty Madi Rose? Well, she’s 20 now! And yes, that’s our own Angela Primm making Russ go all blurry around the edges as she rocks out a song!
Russ was recently asked to sing on Michael English’s upcoming solo cd (which is going to be INCREDIBLE!) He joined Michael and Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts in the studio this week– here’s their initial practice run, harmonizing on a chorus. Sounds pretty good to me!
Wait– there’s more! Michael just posted this to SocialCam– enjoy!
Charlotte’s first driving lesson– She was nervous, Russ was cool as a cucumber and big sister Madi captured it all on film…
Well, I’m back in my beloved Faroe Islands, performing at the Summar Festival tonight, and visiting our friend (and my producer) Jakup Zachariassen and his family. I’m really excited about playing tonite, as I will be reunited with a lot of the amazing musicians and singers that I met and worked with while I was recording my “Faroe Islands” project, especially (also my producers) Oli Poulsen and Kristoffer Mørkøre.
Yesterday Jakup, Oli and I drove all over the island and shot footage for a video of the song “Harvest.” Here are a few shots Madi took of me trying to look moody and artsy while not shivering– it may be summer here, but it is still only about 53 windy degrees!
We head over to Norway next, where I will be doing a few more dates, including a couple with Evie Tornquist Karlsson– really looking forward to that!
Hope to see you guys soon, somewhere on the road…
Love to you all–
Russ had a great concert on August 10 at the Skjærgårdssang Festival in Langesund, Norway! He enjoyed an evening of music with groups from all over Norway and Sweden, then took the stage for a solo set with the band. He ended the night by joining Evie Tornquist Karlsson (with her husband Pelle and son Kris) to sing “Give Them All to Jesus” and “Amen”– what a night!
